Before the Armenian Genocide in the early 20th century, the Kaprielian ancestors owned 11 vineyards in Western Armenia. Based off of a childhood dream of one day reviving the family tradition on Armenian soil the new generation planted a stake in Artsakh on 30 hectares of land in Banadzor village near the south-eastern province of Hadrut.
Takri, which fittingly means “roots” in the Artsakh dialect, symbolizing the family’s return to ancestral origins.
Made from 40% Voskehat, 30% Khatuni, 30% Banants grapes that are hand harvested and hand sorted from 80-100 year old un-grafted vineyards. Takri Brut Armenian Sparkling Wine has aged for 22 months for a dry crisp sparkler that can accompany a variety of dishes.
