Jose María Guadalupe de Cuervo began selling Vino Mezcal de Tequila de Jose Cuervo in 1795, but it wasn't until the 1800's that the Distillery was opened.
Today, every drop of Jose Cuervo Tequila is still produced in that same Distillery. Among the leaders in the division, Jose Cuervo controls about 1/3 of the market and obtains the largest holdings of agave in the world.
Each day, 200 to 300 tons of agave are harvested from the rich, volcanic soil at the foot of the Tequila Volcano. Combining a bit of old with a bit of new processes to be crafted into a variety of their signature tequilas.
Among those tequilas is Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila. Made with 100% blue agave, this expression is inspired by a 200yr old recipe that offers the drinker a unique experience to try blanco tequila the way it was intended to be.
