Ouzo 12 originated in Constantinople, (what is now known as Istanbul) in 1880. It took its name in at the Kaloyannis Distillery from "Barrel No12", which was the precise balance in flavor and texture. With the passing of the years, Ouzo 12 has affirmed itself as one of the leading brands because it has always remained faithful to the original recipe.
Made using a neutral grape base alcohol which is twice distilled with anise and other specially selected spices, Ouzo 12 also has the honor of being the first ouzo ever bottled.
