The vision for Barkan wines, was always to put together a collection of Israeli wines that not only stand up against European competitors, but to offer both the kosher and non kosher wine drinkers a quality product at a reasonable price.
Today, the winery is the second largest in Israel and receives grapes from such regions as the Golan Heights, the Upper Galilee and the Lebanese border area, the lower Galilee and Tavor, the Jerusalem mountains, and Mitzpe Ramon to produce many of their varietals.
Among the newest to join the portfolio is Barkan Reserve Gewurtztraminer. Using grapes harvested from the Judean Foothills, this semi-dry white wine is fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks in order to preserve it unique aromas. Crisp and exuberance, this wine is is best served chilled.
Notes: Semi-dry, medium-bodied. Aromas and flavors of honey, quince and asian pear.
