It was in 1859, the Prince of Wales, later King George IV of Great Britain, requested that Hennessy create a “very superior old pale cognac. Knowing better than to refuse a King, the house crafted Hennessy Privilege V.S.O.P from Ugni Blanc grapes and a blend of over 60 eau-de-vie for one harmonious blend of flavors then left to rest for at least 4 years in French oak casks.
