Widely considered the father of modern bourbon E.H. Taylor, was an orphan who was adopted and raised by his Great Uncle, Zachary Taylor (who would later become the twelfth President of the United States).

Destined for greatness, Taylor stumbled into the distilling business after he came to the aid of a local distillery when he was still a banker. Creating his own distillery and leveraging his federal connections through Great- Uncle Zachary, also might have had something to do with it, but that's a different story in and of itself.

Taylor's innovation and drive paved the way for both a legendary selection of spirits and for distilling as a whole. Many of his practices were adopted by fellow distilleries and are still used today.

It was through his craft, that Taylor was able to create such exemplary bourbons such as Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. Small Batch. Aged for 11 years and 7 months in new, American oak casks the bourbon is then bottled at 100 proof and ready to be served.
