The National drink of Columbia, Aguardiente is traditionally comprised of molasses, sugarcane, anise. However, founder Sergio Castro Brandon improved upon this recipe in 1950 when he added a bit more sugar and blended it with the purest water from the Nevado del Ruiz and the best natural anise essence from Europe.
Traditionally drank straight, Cristal Aguardiente has recently gained popularity in the U.S. as a substitute for rum in a variety of cocktails but don't let that stop you from enjoying it as is.
